Comprehensive Mold Remediation

Mold is not a cleaning problem — it is a moisture problem. Surface bleaching kills the visible mold but leaves hyphae rooted in porous materials that re-colonize within weeks. Our IICRC-certified mold remediators isolate the affected area with negative air pressure, physically remove contaminated material, HEPA-vacuum the entire space, treat with EPA-registered antimicrobials, and identify the moisture source so it does not return.

Mold Inspection

Visual inspection plus moisture mapping with thermal imaging — air sampling and surface testing through accredited third-party labs when scope or liability requires it.

Containment

6-mil poly barriers, negative air machines, and decontamination chambers — preventing mold spores from cross-contaminating the rest of the building during work.

HEPA Air Filtration

Industrial air scrubbers run continuously throughout the project — capturing spores down to 0.3 microns at 99.97% efficiency, keeping ambient counts at or below outdoor levels.

Mold Removal

Physical removal of contaminated drywall, carpet, insulation, and wood — wire-brushing or sanding salvageable framing — bagged and disposed of as regulated waste.

Antimicrobial Treatment

EPA-registered antimicrobial agents applied to all affected and adjacent surfaces — broad-spectrum kill against Aspergillus, Stachybotrys, Penicillium, and Cladosporium.

Moisture Source Repair

Mold remediation without addressing the water source is a temporary fix. We identify and repair the source — leaking pipe, roof flashing, condensation, drainage — so it does not return.

Mold Remediation & Removal — Common Questions

Straight answers to the questions we get most often. Don't see yours? Call us — we are happy to talk through your situation.

How dangerous is mold in my home?
Risk depends on species, exposure duration, and individual sensitivity. Common health effects include respiratory irritation, allergic reactions, sinus infections, and asthma exacerbation. Stachybotrys (black mold) and certain Aspergillus species produce mycotoxins linked to more serious conditions. Anyone immunocompromised, infants, and the elderly are at higher risk and should not be in the home during active remediation.
Can I remove mold myself?
For visible surface mold under 10 square feet on non-porous surfaces (tile, glass, sealed wood), DIY cleanup with proper PPE is acceptable per EPA guidance. For larger areas, porous materials, drywall, HVAC contamination, or anyone with respiratory conditions, professional remediation is the right choice — improper removal sends spores throughout the home.
Does insurance cover mold remediation?
Sometimes. Most homeowners policies cover mold only when it results from a covered water loss (sudden burst pipe, appliance failure) and is addressed promptly. Mold from gradual leaks, neglected maintenance, or flooding is typically excluded unless you have a specific mold endorsement. Network contractors document the source and timing carefully to support coverage where it exists.
How long does mold remediation take?
Small contained jobs are completed in 1 to 3 days. Whole-room remediation runs 3 to 7 days. Whole-house jobs with HVAC contamination can take 2 to 3 weeks including post-remediation verification testing and reconstruction. Our network partners provide a written schedule before work begins.
Will the mold come back after remediation?
Not if the moisture source is fixed. Mold cannot grow without water. Our remediation always includes identifying and repairing the source — leaking plumbing, roof or window flashing, condensation, drainage, ventilation. We also provide a 12-month workmanship warranty on the remediated area.
Do I need air quality testing after remediation?
For most residential jobs, visual inspection and surface sampling by a third party is sufficient. For real estate transactions, occupants with health concerns, or high-risk species like Stachybotrys, we strongly recommend post-remediation verification air sampling — this provides written, lab-certified clearance that the area is safe.
